Read our Pourquoi Tales

Pourquoi means "Why?" in French.

Pourquoi stories have been around as folktales for many years dating back to the Native Americans. The students wrote their own original Pourquoi tales. Using the app Book Creator, students wrote the tale and then using the app Drawing Pad, students illustrated their tale. As an added challenge students also added sound to their story.

 Each story was written to answer the "why" or "how" questions about animals.

Division Story Problems

The students wrote their own division story problems.  Then they solved all the problems.  They had lots of fun writing and solving the problems.

Fun at W.I.N. Time

       Jack and Noah worked on posters about Argentina and Washington, D.C. They printed pictures and wrote about what they were studying. They also added fun facts columns and edited with each other. They got a chance to share them with the class to show off what they learned.

Pourquoi Tales

During our Traditionsl Literature Unit the students read many Pourquoi Tales.  The students enjoyed reading them so much we decided to write our own.  They have been working very hard writing their stories in Book Creator using the IPAD!  We can't wait for you to see the finished project.

Air Server

During math this week we got to use Air Server on our iPads!  This was so fun.  The students were able to share their thinking on the smartboard from their IPad.  We discovered that we could project all the iPads on the screen at once.  He are some picture of the students completing some division problems.

    Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!

   Looks like the pigeon really wants to drive the bus.

   We have been writing some opinion writing.

   We've been writing about if we want the pigeon to drive the bus or not to drive the bus.  I think the 

   pigeon shouldn't drive the bus.
