We celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday today.  My sister, Heidi, came to read to the kids this morning.  She read The Lorax and talked a little bit about her job.  We had so much fun!

We have been busy learning about fractions.  This week we focused on equivalent fractions, comparing fractions and adding fractions with like denominators.  

Ask your child which strategy they use when comparing fractions.

The students are playing Splash Math which helps them to practice the skills they were taught with fractions. 

They were also taught a memory game and they had to find the equivalent fraction. 

This game is like Old Maid but they are matching equivalent fractions and they don't want to be left with Ferdie the Nerdie.
