Jeopardy and Science Test

We played a fun game of Jeopardy to prepare us for the science test.  Then we got to take our science test on the IPAD.  The grades will be coming home this week.  All the students did an amazing job!

Writing

*learned how to complete a brain frame to organize our writing

* practice writing a good lead to hook the reader (ask your child their favorite lead to write)

* introduced show not tell in their writing

Math

* add multi-digit number with and without regrouping

* reviewed key words in word problem to help us know whether we add or subtract

Reading

*character traits

* how character change throughout a story

* reviewed problem and solution

Science

*reviewed photosynthesis

*how seeds travel

* definition of seed coat and germination

Ask your child which letters they have to learn to write in cursive!  They love learning cursive!

We learned:

In the American Revolution the first shot was fired April 19, 1775.
Holes in the leaves are called Stoma.
Plants give us oxygen to breathe.
When I do mental math I can round one number to the nearest ten and subtract then add the ones.
If you pay attention and do hard work in life you will get far!  ❤️
The battle of Lexington and Concord was the first battled fought in the Amercian Revolution.
Happy and sad are usually feelings and not character traits.
Plants take a lot of time to grow.
Plants take in Carbon Dioxide.
Boston Tea Party was part of the Revolutionary War.
There are three types of roots.
