10/25/15

This week during the assembly each grade performed either a poem or song teaching the school how to show G.R.I.T.  The third graders read an Always/Never Poem.  Ask your child to recite the lines from our poem.
During math centers this group of kids were playing a math activity called Subtrarion Across Zero.  Maybe you can try playing it at home.

These children are using a program called Math Playground.  This program helps them solves story problems using bar models.
In this center the kids are very busy trying to solve sudoku puzzles!  They loved this challenge.
We have been writing personal narrative this month.  Our personal narratives should include; dialogue, show not tell, voice, interesting leads, good word choice and they should all be seed stories.
This is an example of how bar models should look!

Our Halloween Party is Friday at 11:30!  Kids can bring their costume to school but no scary masks or make up.
